Together we can end violence against women and girls.
Join me in supporting real change.
I am a Survivor of sexual assault.
When I first met the founders of ALWH I was 15 years old. I was a sophomore in high school feeling my way through adolescence but really looking for a a way to cope with my trauma.
I saw Story of A Rape Survivor (SOARS ) for the first time and it changed my life. From that day on I knew I was not alone. There are other girls and even grown women who who shared the same power stripping experience that Iβd had. That performance changed my life and gave me the courage to heal and I knew that I would eventually be O.K.
Along Walk Home is more than just another one of those organizations out there doing the same thing. ALWH is creating leaders , activists and helping heal the open wounds of young women like me.
Read this Chicago Tribune Article about how A Long Walk Home supports the leadership of Black girls and women in the racial justice movement.
